Lichtjes voor de donkere tijd/Lanterns for the dark months

In december ga ik met de kinderen lichtjes vilten. Daarom heb ik nu wat voorbeelden gemaakt. Eigenlijk wilde ik rechtstreeks op/om het potje vilten. Maar op de een of andere manier lukte dat helemaal niet. Het vilt bleef erg los. Misschien is glas tè glad? Heeft iemand daar ervaring mee? Ik heb nu losse lapjes gevilt en die vastgemaakt om het potje.

In December I'll be wet felting lanterns with the children. That is why I made these examples. I wanted to felt directly on to the glass jars. But somehow, this didn't work out well, at all. The felt stayed very loose. Maybe glass is too slippery? Does anyone have experience with that? I now felted loose pieces of felt and I sewed them around the jars.

Een geweldige dag/A wonderful day

Afgelopen zondag heb ik een workshop gedaan bij Mary de Munk-Mortier in Bussum. Wat een heerlijke dag was dat!! We waren met 10 vrouwen en we zaten in een zaal van de Vrije school Michaël. Buiten gierde de wind en regende het af en toe flink. Maar binnen was het heerlijk. Wat fijn om met een groep dames te zijn die mooie verhaaltjes en handwerk ook zo serieus nemen! En dan ga je ook nog eens naar huis met een kant en klaar tafelspelletje. Want Mary had alles tot in de puntjes voorbereid. Super!

Last Sunday I did a workshop at Mary de Munk-Mortiers in Bussum. What a lovely day it was!! We were with 10 women and we sat in a hall of the Vrije school Michaël. Outside it was very windy and rain came down every now and then. But inside it was wonderful. How nice to be together with a bunch of ladies who take nice stories and handwork just as serious as I do! And you end up with a finished table play. Because Mary had prepared everything very well. Super!

Mary schilderde de prachtige achtergrondplaat voor ons en ze maakte het molletje al! Wij maakten zelf een hertje en een doos om het spelletje in te bewaren.

Steen omvilten/ Wetfelting a stone

Binnenkort ga ik met de kinderen stenen omvielen. Ik wilde er graag nog een paar voorbeeldjes bij.

Sint Maarten/Martinmas

"Met mijn lichtje in het donker loop ik zingend in het rond,

hemel vol met stergeflonker en mijn straaltjes op de grond."

Overmorgen is het Sint Maarten. Tot gister had ik de stemming voor Sint Maarten nog niet zo te pakken. Maar het was gister heerlijk herfstweer en we zijn een flink stuk gaan lopen in de duinen. Het was heerlijk! Thuis dook ik in het boek van Juul van der Stok, "Schipper mag ik overvaren?". Tja dat helpt wel! Daarna heb ik het transparantje met de lampionnenoptocht gemaakt. (Die van Sint Maarten maakte ik lang geleden.) Laat Sint Maarten nu maar komen. Ik ga er extra van genieten want het zou voor Anne zomaar de laatste keer kunnen zijn. Ze gaat volgend jaar namelijk naar de middelbare school.....

Wednesday the 11th of November it is Martinmas. Until yesterday, I didn't get in the mood for Martinmas. But yesterday we had beautiful autumn wheather and we went for a long walk in the dunes. It was ver nice! At home I took the book of Juul van der Stok, "Schipper mag ik overvaren?". Well, that helped (it's a very inspiring book about the seasons and celebrations through the year)! After that I made the transparant with the children with their lanterns. ( I made the other one a long time ago.) Let Martinmas begin! I'm gonna enjoy it extra because it might be the last time for our daughter, for she it starting secundary school next year.

Drie hele kleine popjes/Three very little dolls

Dit is een van mijn favoriete patroontjes. Het zijn kleine (±13cm) zachte popjes. Het oorspronkelijke patroon is van Wollepop: Kaboutertje op reis. Maar ik varieer er graag mee. Ook dit zullen niet de laatste versies zijn....

This is one of my favorite patterns. These are little (±13cm) soft dolls. The original is from Wollepop: Kaboutertje op reis. I always like to make different versions. These will not be the last ones...

Moeder Aarde en haar wortelkindertjes/Mother Earth and her root children

Ik heb twee setjes Moeder Aarde met de wortelkinderen gemaakt. Ze kunnen nu op de jaartafel (De wortelkindertjes gaan weer slapen) of in het voorjaar ( De wortelkindertjes worden weer wakker). De groenige set is te koop op mijn "Te koop-pagina".

I made two sets of Mother Earth with the root children. You can put them on the nature table now (The root children go back to sleep) or in Springtime (The root children wake up again). The greenish set is for sale on my "Te koop-pagina". 

Handwerkgroep/Craftsgroup

Het was weer gezellig met mijn handwerkgroep. De kinderen hebben gisteren een paddestoelpotlood gemaakt.

Volgende week is het herfstvakantie. Bij  De Hoep in Castricum is een tentoonstelling over paddestoelen. Op donderdag 22 oktober ga ik daarom bij De Hope vliegenzwammen vilten bij De Hoep. Je kunt je hier aanmelden. Ik doe een workshop om 13.00 en om 15.00.

Next week we have Autumn holidays. At De Hoep there is an exhibition about toadstools. On Thursday the 22nd I'm going to give two workshops wet felting a toadstool there. You can sign in here. The first one is at 13.00 and the second at 15.00.

Breimanie/Knittingmania

Bij de kinderen op school is er een breimanie aan de gang. Er wordt volop gebreid met de allerdikste naalden, het allerdikste garen en het allersynthetiest dat er maar verkrijgbaar is. Maar goed dat mag de pret niet drukken, er wordt in ieder geval gebreid, door meisjes èn jongens. Erg leuk!!!
Dit (behalve de grootste kikker, die heb ik gemaakt) is de productie van Anne en Pijke tot nu toe. Allemaal gemaakt van rechthoekige lapjes. De kikker is een idee van Ina een klasgenoot van de cursus in Gouda. In Gouda kwamen heel veel ideeën naar boven met rechthoekige lapjes. Daar is nog wel eens een blogdingetje van te maken....elke maand een ander dingetje gemaakt van een gebreid rechthoekje?

At the school of our children, there is a knitting mania. There is a lot of knitting going on with the thickest kind of needles, the thickest kind of thread and of the most synthetical material you can think of. But that doesn't matter as long as there is knitting going on. And it is not only the girls, no the boys are also very enthusiastic. It's very nice to see!!
These (except the big frog, I made that) are the products Anne and Pijke made so far. All made of rectangular pieces. The frog is an idea of Ina, she was a fellow student at the course in Gouda. In Gouda a lot of ideas were brought up with knitted rectangulars. I could make a "bloghting" of that....every month another thing made of a knitted rectangular.

Klein popje/Little doll

Anderhalf jaar geleden maakte ik bij Ineke Gray het snoepige 20cm popje. Ik heb er nu eindelijk nog eens een gemaakt. En ik heb me lekker uitgeleefd...

One and a half year ago I made the cute 20cm doll at Ineke Gray's. And now finally, I made another one. And I enjoyed it very much...
